RM5 Uncut Banknotes - 3rd Series

Bank Negara Malaysia issued uncut banknotes (3rd Series) in September 1999. Three type of uncut banknotes were issued: 3 in 1, 8 in 1 and 30 in 1. The 3 in 1 and 8 in 1 uncut banknotes were issued in a folder with description and they are limited to 20,000 copies and 5,000 copies each. In addition, the 30 in 1 uncut banknotes was nicely packed in container and only 3,000 copies were issued.

This 3rd Series of RM5 banknotes carry the theme of "Wawasan 2020" which reflects Malaysia's vision of economy development and achievement towards a fully developed country by the year 2020. The construction section has been selected as the design motif in RM5 banknote.

The observe of the 3rd Series of RM5 banknotes retains the portrait of the first Seri PAduka Yang Di-pertuan Agong. The reverse design features the construction section with landmark building such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Petronas Twin Towers and geographical map bearing the landmark symbols representing Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.

Hello, I would like to ask something on the uncut notes.
For the RM5 uncut pair set, there are old and new series of RM5 in it.
The thing I want to know is, the Prefix of the new and old notes for sure are different, but for the numbers, are they suppose to be the same?
I saw a few set of RM5 uncut pair notes with the same numbers.
Recently I saw a set of RM5 uncut pair from my friend, the numbers don't match.
Does BNM issued 2 varieties of RM5 uncut pair notes?
Thank you.

I am not surprise to see the uncut banknote of different series with same serial numbers. Reason being, each prefix has a million copy and the chances of them matching each other are high.

The serial number of uncut banknotes really depends on the way that the printed numbers run i.e. horizontally or vertically and the way they were cut. So, I dont think that there are variety in any uncut banknote.

the issuance of the set , suppose to be different prefix but same serial numbers, right?

If the set with different prefix and serial numbers, does that mean the set has been modified? or maybe the set is not genuine set?

Whether the uncut banknote is genuine, it can always be identified through its security features. It is not necessary that an uncut banknote should always be in same prefix and serial numbers.

The original set of it suppose to be identical numbers.
So, if the pair consists of different serial numbers, does it mean that, the uncut sheets have been switch(not the original set)?

I wonder how an uncut banknote is switched. Are you saying that the uncut banknote was cut and recombined again? Perhaps, you might forward your those images for review.
