The RM5 with signature of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ali Abul Hassan is commonly circulated since 1999 until it was replaced by Tan Sri Dato' Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz in 2000. However, the RM1 with signature of Tan Sri Dato's Seri Ali Abul Hassan is a rare piece because it was not widely circulated.
