Kuala Lumpur Tower on RM2 Note

Depicted on the back of RM2 banknote (3rd Series of Malaysian Banknote) is the Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower) or Menara Kuala Lumpur. Besides Petronas Twin Towers, KL tower is another icon or skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur city. KL tower is a communication tower in which its antenna reaches the height of 421 meters from the ground. It is the fifth tallest tower in the world. It provides a public observation platform at the height of 276 meters and also a revolving restaurant that allow you to enjoy the panorama view of Kuala Lumpur city.

Depicted next to KL Tower is the MEASAT 1 satellite. Malaysia launched its 1st Malaysian satellite - MEASAT 1 on 12 January 1996. MEASAT (Malaysia East Asia Satellite) is the name of a line of communications satellites owned and operated by MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd. As to date, Malaysia has launched 3 MEASAT satellites (MEASAT 1, MEASAT 2 and MEASAT 3) and going for its fourth (MEASAT 3A)
