RM1 ZG Replacement Note

Is all the replacement note of 3rd Series printed with prefix "Z"? I would say at this moment the answer is "Yes". But, there are also rumours say that not all the RM1 note with prefix "Z" is the replacement note. Anyway, not many of the replacement note with prefix "Z" appear in the market. I have seen Prefix "ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD, ZE, ZG and ZW". Anyone has seen replacement note of RM1 with other prefix than mentioned above?

Why no prefix ZF is out and just jump to ZG? And why last time jump to ZW?

I think ZG is a normal note not a replacement !

Based on the serial numbers of the RM1 ZG, very likely the rumours about them being ordinary issues could be true. Rarely do we see replacement banknotes appearing with 'high' or 'big' serial numbers when they first appear in circulation or from banks. Even your displayed samples start with a 4, meaning they were issued in abundance from the very beginning, just like any other ordinary RM1 issues.

I do agree that the replacement note with Z series always start with low number i.e. 00xxxxx. I have couple of them running at low numbers. But also I have few pieces of ZA notes with number 3+ and 6+. Let's wait to see more ZG series note emerge in the market. I could be wrong, but there are others still believe ZG is a replacement note tough.

Very interest question as why the issuance of Z series notes are in jumping sequence i.e. missing ZF and straight away to ZW. What happen to others. I believe soon we will see them all. But a question remain arguable is whether they are replacement note or ordinary issuance.

May I ask something not about RM1?
1. How you ppl know what prefix means to replacement note?
2. I got a second series type II RM100 with prefix of ZZ836xxx, is it a replacement note too?

CNY is just around the corner so we should see more of the RM1 prefix Z coming out from the banks or ATMs. 2 or 3 months ago, I wrote about rumours that from ZF onwards until ZV, these are normal issue notes and not replacements. Other than the 'missing' ZF, everything seems to be coming true and it appears BNM is releasing the RM1 from both ends ie ZG, ZH, ZJ, ZK .... and ZV, ZU, ZT .... Also, I wrote about ZW until ZZ should be replacements so better start to look out guys during this two weeks or so.

Actually it was exactly 5 months ago and not 2-3 months when I mentioned about the prefix Z rumours. Now, there are already people who claimed they have seen RM1 with prefix AAA and AAB in the banks! Another first for Msian banknotes if it is true.

There are sightings of ZAA for the RM1. There are also sightings of AAA and beyond - would it mean that AAA is the first triple alphabets for Malaysia Banknotes? Anyone seen the AAA ?

I just changed mine in nearby bank, all ZM, starts with 1020XXX... I think these are not replacement notes... so I am gonna use them...

Other than ZF, ZX, ZY and ZZ, all the other RM1 prefix Z have already being issued for circulation. There are also abundance of triple prefix AA? being issued concurrently with some sightings of the replacement ZAA.

Yes, BNM has issued the RM1 with the prefix AAA. I personally have seen and own it. This is the first time even that BNM uses three alphabets prefix in Malaysian Banknotes. They also released RM1 notes with prefix Z. Other than ZA, ZB, ZC, ZD, ZE & ZW, those with prefix Z are believed to be normal circulation notes.

I think ZM & ZL are normal circulating notes as i have few stacks of them. I've come across a RM 1 AAR today. The new 3 letter new notes are circulating real fast... K
