This is the third series of Strait Settlements coins issued under reign of King George V from 1910 to 1936. There are total of eight denominations in this series of coin namely 1/4, 1/2, 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and one dollar coin.
The 1/4, 1/2 and 1 cent coins were issued in bronze. There are two type of 1/2 cent coins in this series. They come in round and square shape and were issued at different years. The earlier 1/2 cent issued in 1916 was in round and later issue in year 1932 was in square type.
5, 10, 20 and 50 cents as well as one dollar coin were minted in silver. They are in range of .400 to .600 silver. However, the 5 cents copper nickel coin was also introduced in 1920.
